Michelin has announced that, in 2010, the Michelin Power Cup race series will come to the UK, enabling the manufacturer to build in this country, the community atmosphere, which the series has already created with riders in France, Italy and Spain.
The five round series, will bring racers unprecedented value for money, due to the extensive amount of track time it offers, and lots of interest, with each round including three sprint races, covering 600cc and 1000cc classes.
There will be a dedicated website, charting the progress of Power Cup 2010, with background and achievement details on those involved, and providing a focal point for the community, whilst input from MotoGP-experienced personnel will guarantee World Championship class back up.
There may be a dealer/rider support package available, more on this to follow, and riders can look forward to a prize fund, including tyres, cash and merchandise, culminating in the chance to represent Michelin UK in a one-off race in Europe.
This is the most exciting, real-world, news, to inspire the "average racer", that we have heard for a long time, and we'll be following the series, here, throughout next year.
