Some may be surprised to learn that 2010 MotoGP World Champion, Jorge Lorenzo, has yet to acquire a motorcycle driver's license ! How many motorcycle racing stars cannot legally ride on the road, is not known, but the number is probably quite high. At any rate, the rider from Mallorca, is determined to "take to the streets", and has already passed the theory exam.
The Yamaha YBR 250cc, upon which the Yamaha Factory Racing rider is practising for the applied portion of the full test, may be a far cry from his MotoGP bike/s, but Lorenzo is philosophical about being told to "slow down", and "pay attention".

Meanwhile, recently appointed "Safety Advisor to Dorna", Loris Capirossi, has been expanding upon the vital nature of his work with Bridgestone, as he acts as a catalyst for information-exchange between riders, teams, and tyre manufacturer.
On Bridgestone's new-season GP race tyres, Capirossi reported that "The general feeling is that the 2012 specification tyres are very good. The riders are happy with the warm-up performance and improved feeling and this is important for their confidence. Also the experimental front tyre that was tested here in Sepang gave riders an understanding of the direction of Bridgestone's development, and for this the feeling was also positive."
