MotoGP World Champion, Casey Stoner, intends to defy those who suggest that sporting a number One on the Championship winner's machine the following year, is a jinx and invites disaster !
Speaking in an exclusive interview with MotoGP.com, the Australian rider, who lives with wife Adriana in Switzerland, looks forward to the imminent arrival of their first child, and to the new season 2012, when he expects that the stiffest competition will come from Jorge Lorenzo, also, probably, Andrea Dovizioso.
And the name to watch for the future, according to Stoner ? "Marc Marquez", who took second place in the Moto2 2011 Championship standings.
As to Ducati's prospects this year, Stoner believes that competitive Ducati's are essential if the public is to see entertaining racing, but doubts that the Italian machines on the 2012 grid will be much improved beyond what was seen in the latter part of last year.
And what does Switzerland have to offer the 2011 MotoGP World Champion, apart from scenery, peace and quiet? Mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding are favourite pastimes, and help with the rider's off-season fitness programme.
