As a year he will probably want to forget draws to a close, Valentino Rossi has been having fun, on four wheels for a change !

Coming second, after eight times World Rally Champion, Sebastien Loeb, in the Monza Rally Show competition, at the end of November, Rossi drove a Ford Fiesta RS WRC to finish just 24 seconds behind Loeb, in a Citroen DS3 WRC, who received the Master Show- Marco Simoncelli Trophy, given in memory of the late MotoGP rider, who had been due to compete at Monza.

Rossi's display of four-wheel racing ability, saw him finish close to the front of a field which included eight WRC championship winners, an IRC Rally title holder, eleven Italian Rally series winners, and three champions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Fittingly, the Ducati rider's car featured a tribute to the late Marco Simoncelli.
