Pirelli wins "Cross Country Rallies" title
Pirelli has put a new trophy on its award shelf, in the shape of this year's FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship title, won for the tyre manufacturer by Portuguese Red Bull TMN rider Helder Rodriquez, using Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres on his winning Yamaha WR450F Rally.
About the tyres, Rodriquez said, "The Pirelli Scorpion Rally has been a fantastic choice, they are able to offer good traction, good mileage and they have always gone well for the whole season, contributing in a fundamental way to my victory in the 2011 Cross Country Rallies World Championship."
The Portuguese rider looks forward to employing the Scorpion Rally rubber in the 2012 Dakar event.
The Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres are designed for desert and rally racing, featuring an innovative production process that combines high resistance to fatigue and overall performance, even after intensive use.
