MotoGP 2011 continued last Sunday, with the GP Aperol di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, at Misano, and a furious battle for the three podium places, ending with Yamaha Factory Racing's Jorge Lorenzo as race winner, then Repsol Honda riders second, Dani Pedrosa, and third, Casey Stoner.
The tussle for the 2011 World Championship title intensified as Lorenzo's victory took his points total to 224, behind standings leader Stoner, on 259. In third place is another Repsol Honda contender, Andrea Dovizioso, with 185, whilst that team's remaining pilot, Dani Pedrosa, is fourth, on 150.
#46 rider, Valentino Rossi, with Ducati Team, is sixth, on the Championship standings, having 133 points.
Next time out, event number 14 of a scheduled 18, and the Gran Premio de Aragon, on Sunday 18th September, at the MotorLand Aragon.
