MotoGP



MotoGP 2011 continued last Sunday, with event number 12, of 18 this year, and the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, also known as the "Brickyard".
Repsol Honda took first and second places, as Casey Stoner stole the lead from Dani Pedrosa, and broke lap records, coming home first ahead of his team-mate. Ben Spies was third, for Yamaha Factory Racing, with stable-mate and reigning World Champion, Jorge Lorenzo, fourth.
Stoner leads the Championship standings, after his seventh GP victory of the season, on 243 points, and Lorenzo is second, with 199. Repsol Honda's Andrea Dovizioso, was fifth in the US race, and holds third position in the standings at 174 points. Dani Pedrosa is fourth, having 130 points, and Spies' podium at Indianapolis leaves him fifth overall, on 125.
The battle for the 2011 World Championship title continues, with the GP Aperol di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, this Sunday, 4th September.
Last year, at the Misano Adriatico circuit, the race winner was Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa; Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi, both then with Fiat Yamaha, were second and third respectively.
