Pirelli World Superbike Tyre Supply Deal
The prestigious World and British Superbike Championships will continue to benefit from the level playing field of Pirelli control tyres until 2015 as the International series organisers last week announced a new three year deal.
The agreement comes after the British Superbike series agreed a five year arrangement (2011 -2015) over the winter for all riders to utilise the latest World Superbike developed Pirelli Diablo Superbike tyres.
Alongside the exchange of data and development, both series will continue to benefit from "wild card" rides from one series to the other as illustrated by the appearance of top BSB team Samsung Crescent Suzuki (John Hopkins and Jon Kirkham) at last weekend's Silverstone WSB event and likewise the PBM Kawasaki WSB squad (Tom Sykes and Joan Lascorz) who will ride at the forthcoming Brands Hatch BSB races.
An unprecedented number of British riders now race in the World Superbike series, a situation helped by the familiarity of having ridden on similar Pirelli rubber between the two Championships.
