Last Sunday, 3rd July, saw event number 8 of 2011, and the GRAN PREMIO d'ITALIA TIM, at Mugello.
Winner, of a hard fought race, was Yamaha Factory Racing's Jorge Lorenzo, with a Repsol Honda duo of Andrea Dovizioso and Casey Stoner, respectively second and third.
The second consecutive GP win for Yamaha this season, gave a useful boost to reigning World Champion Lorenzo's points tally, who now has a total of 133, just 19 points behind standing's leader, Stoner, with 152, after Mugello. Dovizioso is third, with 119.
Next time out, Sunday 17th July, at Germany's Sachsenring, and the eni MOTORRAD GRAND PRIX DEUTSCHLAND.
