Avon celebrates 2011 Isle of Man Sidecar success
The Avon-shod and Honda-powered LCR of Klaus Klaffenbock and Dan Sayle won the first of the two sidecar events at the 2011 Isle of Man TT races, and only technical problems prevented the duo from clinching another victory in the second race.
Avon-shod machines took eight of the top ten positions in both sidecar events.
A fastest top speed at Sulby straight of 148.5mph and the fastest lap, 114.672mph, went to the Avon pair of Klaffenbock and Sayle.
In the centenary year of Avon's motorcycle tyre production, the manufacturer's IOM TT results "capped another successful TT campaign for Avon Tyres", said Motorsport Sales Manager Steve Smith.
