Just over a week to go until event number five in the 2011 MotoGP World Championship series, and the GRAN PREMI APEROL DE CATALUNYA, at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Then, next time out, Sunday 12th June, and the AIRASIA BRITISH GRAND PRIX.

The upcoming British event will be at Silverstone, again, and Valentino Rossi, Ducati Team, has been to the Northants circuit recently, joining other motorsports celebrities for the inauguration ceremony to open the complex of garages, media centre, offices and auditorium, known as The Silverstone Wing.

Rossi missed the 2010 Silverstone round due to injury, and took the opportunity presented by his visit to turn in more than a few laps of the celebrated circuit on a World Superbike Ducati 1198, and later a standard 1198 street bike.

"The track is nice - difficult and very technical." Said the Italian star, "It makes you work hard because there are very fast sections where having the right trajectory is important, and others that are very narrow where you have to have good grip under acceleration."

Rossi's Silverstone debut at the AirAsia British Grand Prix is likely to be something to watch !
