MotoGP will move to Portugal, for the next round, and the bwin GRANDE PREMIO DE PORTUGAL, on 1st May, at Estoril.
Meanwhile, Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa, currently number two in the 2011 Championship standings, is recovering from surgery, last week, to complete the repairs to his collarbone injury, by removal of a titanium plate and screws. He has high hopes that he will be back to normal in time for the Portuguese event.
Pedrosa's team mates, at Repsol Honda, Casey Stoner and Andrea Dovizioso, have joined the #26 rider this year, in Honda support actions for the safety of motorcyclists and, as Pedrosa did last year, the threesome will wear the "Honda Safety" logotype on the fairings of their RC212V machines.
As early as 1970, Honda had created in Japan, the Traffic Safety Promotion Division, and the logotype, designed by Honda Montessa SA, depicts the multinational's complete involvement with rider safety, with a graphical representation of three hands which symbolise the triple main areas of Honda Safety.
The logotype with the three hands, suggests the protection of two riders representing both present and future generations of riders. Honda's Safety Institute is a European resource dedicated to bike riders and their evolving safety, now and for the years ahead.
Dani Pedrosa celebrated ten years in the World Championship last week, since his 2001 debut, at the age of 15. During the ten years, the 25 year-old has competed in 164 races, and finished on the podium in more than a half, with 35 victories and three World Championships. Perhaps this year, will see him take the premier class Title, to which he has been runner-up twice.
