MotoGP



It was the first race in the 2011 MotoGP World Championship: the COMMERCIALBANK GRAND PRIX OF QATAR, run under floodlights, last Sunday night, at Losail Circuit, and a successful opening event for the Repsol Honda Team, as Casey Stoner stormed home in first position, whilst team-mates Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso came third and fourth, behind reigning World Champion, Jorge Lorenzo, Yamaha Factory Racing, in second place.
Ducati riders, Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden were seventh and ninth, whilst "Brit", Cal Crutchlow, with Monster Yamaha Tech 3, completed his maiden outing, finishing eleventh.
Moto2 was won by Stefan Bradl, whilst Bradley Smith was best placed British rider, in 9th place, and the 125cc race saw Nicolas Terol on the winner's podium, with Danny Kent the top Britain, in the thirteenth slot.
Next time out, 3rd April, and the GRAN PREMIO bwin DE ESPANA, at Jerez in Spain.
