Silverstone Wing receives Dorna thumbs-up

This year's AirAsia British Grand Prix - Britain's only round of the FIM MotoGP World Championship - will operate from the Silverstone Wing, the circuit's state-of-the-art, multi-million pound new Pit and Paddock Complex.

In addition to being based in the new Pit and Paddock Complex, the riders and teams will line up on a new start grid at Silverstone on 10-12 June, situated between Club Corner and Abbey. The relocation of the paddock and start/finish line sees Abbey become Turn 1 of the 2011 British Grand Prix, providing the riders with a fresh challenge on Silverstone's super-fast Grand Prix Circuit.

The spectacular result of the circuit's latest investment received an enthusiastic endorsement from Dorna Sports Managing Director, Javier Alonso, during a recent visit to the Northamptonshire venue, who said, "there are very few circuits on the MotoGP calendar that are able to offer facilities like these."
