KTM chose Dunlop SportSmart
Austrian superbike manufacturer KTM has specified Dunlop SportSmart tyres for the road going version of its victorious RC8R, having won the IDM Manufacturer's title, in the prestigious German series, which pits a variety of street-based superbikes against each other.
KTM were impressed by the ability of their Dunlop tyres to handle the varying demands of the ultra-close racing which has been typical of the 2010 IDM season.
Dunlop will be exclusive tyre supplier for the 2011 IDM series, and also continues as sole provider to the Moto2 Championship.
The tyre manufacturer's "Race to Road" philosophy translates lessons learned in the ultimate test arena of the race track, directly to the rubber available to it's road and trackday customers, whilst independent DEKRA testing is said to have "shown that riders can expect noticeably more mileage from SportSmart than from other hypersport tyres".
