Last weekend, MotoGP was at Motorland Aragon, in Spain, for the Gran Premio A-Style De Aragon, which opened with a touching tribute to #48 rider, Shoya Tomizawa, who was lost to MotoGP at Misano. His racing number, which will now be "retired", out of respect, was featured on all of the machines taking part, at the Spanish event.
Many expected a "home" victory, for Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa, but an untypical poor start, and first lap "slide", left him chasing down the ultimate winner, Ducati's Casey Stoner, taking his first win of the season, with a double result for Ducati, after Nicky Hayden snatched third place from Fiat Yamaha, and Championship leader, Jorge Lorenzo.
Set-up, or lingering injury issues, meant that Reigning World Champion, Valentino Rossi, had to be content with sixth place, following a clearly uncomfortable ride.
Spanish fans will have been delighted by the fastest lap, set by Pedrosa, during the first MotoGP event at this new circuit, when the racing, throughout the field, was amongst the best seen for some time.
Lorenzo continues to lead the 2010 standings, with Dani Pedrosa's threat to his potential World Champion's title, somewhat diminished by the #26 rider's second place finish in Spain.

Next time out, 3rd October, and the Grand Prix of Japan, at Motegi, postponed earlier this year due to the "volcanic ash" scare.
