It was Round 3 of the 2010 MotoGP World Championship, and the Monster Energy Grand Prix De France, at Le Mans, last Sunday, an extremely hot day, when track temperatures reached a scorching 48 degrees Celsius, almost unheard of at the French circuit.

Jorge Lorenzo came home first, ahead of Valentino Rossi, second, and Andrea Dovizioso third, who, with Nicky Hayden, fourth, pushed Dani Pedrosa down from his seemingly assured third podium place, to fifth, in the final moments of the race.

Casey Stoner was one of several notable "DNF's", having crashed out early on.

Despite the heat, Bridgestone's slicks proved both durable and consistent, leading Jorge Lorenzo to praise how the tyres felt and their ability to help him keep up the pace required to secure his first consecutive pair of wins in MotoGP, from Jerez and Le Mans.

The tyre manufacturer's Manager, Motorcycle Tyre Development Department, Tohru Ubukata, made reference, after the French weekend, to Bridgestone's technology transfer, from MotoGP to the road, in regard to the ability of the likes of Battlax BT-023 and BT-003 RS to cope with all temperature ranges, from hot to cold.

Next time out, Sunday 6th June, and the Gran Premio D'Italia TIM, at Mugello.
