Tubeless valves .....the best advice
We recently asked if readers were experiencing problems, with tubeless valves exhibiting signs of premature "perishing". A number of motorcycle tyre specialists reported that, yes, they have observed this problem, and we will be bringing it to the attention of the valve manufacturers.
In the meantime, this may be a good opportunity to repeat the "wisdom" from a leading tyre manufacturer, on the subject, with apologies to most of our readers, who already know !

Tubeless valves :
When fitting new tubeless tyres, new valves should also be fitted. In service, the centrifugal forces that act upon a valve may cause the spring to become damaged and the valve stem may bend, leading to weakness. Contact should be avoided, with solvents, cleaners, oil, petrol and other substances which can cause contamination, possibly leading to deterioration of the rubber compound.
More, on this, in due course.
