Electric power and Pirelli at the TT

Pirelli shod electric bikes took a "clean" podium sweep at the Isle of Man last week, in the "TT Zero" clean emissions race.

The space-age MotoCzysz machine equipped with Pirelli Diablo Superbike slick race tyres swept to a dominant win over the testing 37 mile Mountain course, hitting an impressive 135mph on the Sulby Speed Trap, and finished the race at an average speed of 96.82 mph, in 23 minutes 22 seconds.

Pirelli tyres were chosen by the majority of the grid, as their steel belt construction is renowned for delivering low rolling resistance, essential in this power sapping electric race.

Mark Miller rode the MotoCzysz E1PC to victory, whilst Pirelli supported Team Agni riders Rob Barber and Jenny Tinmouth logged 2nd and 4th, with the locally made ManTTX finishing third, again on Pirelli, piloted by James McBride.
